Un manga d'action satirique où l'on retrouve Son Goku, le héros de la série mère publiée au début des années 1980. Dans ce nouveau cycle, le héros coule des jours tranquilles comme agriculteur après avoir porté le coup fatal à Majin Boo et avoir ramené sur la planète une paix durable (cf. ##Dragon Ball Z##). Mais c'est sans compter avec Berrus, le dieu de la destruction et du chaos d'une planète lointaine, qui recherche des sensations fortes et se met en tête d'affronter le Super Saiyan Divin pour se divertir un peu. Les choses ne tournent pas comme il l'avait prévu et la divinité se met bientôt en tête de détruire la Terre. Pour éviter le pire, Son Goku se voit entraîné dans un nouveau tournoi qui l'opposera aux guerriers de l'univers 6, parmi lesquels Moro et ses sbires, qui se sont évadés de la prison galactique... Une trame sans surprise, jalonnée de combats qui sont découpés plan par plan, soulignés à grand renfort d'onomatopées évocatrices. Soulignons que la trame contient de multiples ellipses qui rendent sa compréhension un peu difficile pour les lecteurs qui ne seraient pas familiers avec certains longs métrages ou titres parus précédemment.
